Pedrosa on new exhaust: “There’s some potential there”

Repsol Honda rider positive after the #JerezTest

Spanish GP winner Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) followed up his stunning win on Sunday with another impressive showing in the test at the same venue, ending Monday in P3 with a best of 1:38.716 – only 0.081 off the top time set by Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).

Testing a new, shorter exhaust as used by LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow during the race weekend, Pedrosa had big positives to report on both that and the front tyre comparisons made with the new Michelin front supplied for the test.

Dani Pedrosa, P3: “I think today was quite positive because we tested the new version of the front tyre, compared it with the medium and hard compound, so it was positive. Also, with the new exhausts, we were comparing one to the other; since my first try in Austin we made a big improvement.

“We need to work it out because there is some potential there, we need to fix some things to make everything better, in particular the electronics, but it was a positive day.”
