Morbidelli: "I'm living the dream"

Sixth win of the season for the EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider

After some tougher races, the Dutch GP saw Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) return to the top step and the Italian kept that momentum rolling at the Sachsenring the following weekend to take his sixth win of the year. Under pressure from first Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) and then Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Morbidelli kept it calm to shut the door around the last lap and keep the Portuguese rider at bay - bagging aother 25 points.

That's not all: with key rivals Lüthi and Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) crashing out in Germany, the Italian is now 34 points clear at the top of the standings.

Franco Morbidelli, P1: “After this sixth win of the season I am living the dream and don’t want to wake up. It was a very difficult race especially to defend the lead against Miguel who caught me very fast in the middle of the race. But then he did not overtake and if he had done I would have been struggling. I was getting ready for a big battle over the final two laps. It was not easy but I did a very good final lap and that gave me the victory. Thanks to my team for all the hard work.”
