Morbidelli: "My goal is to win this Championship"

The Italian-Brazilian rider pays tribute to his roots with commemorative leathers ready for a top step podium in Brno

Current Moto2™ sensation, Franco Morbidelli (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS), took part in an event held by Estrella Galicia 0,0 with Brazilian press this week in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Italian-Brazilian rider commented on his good shape during the first half of the season, his leading position in the Moto2™ Championship as well as his upgraded role in 2018 as a Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS MotoGP™ rider.

The current Moto2™ World Championship leader, took the chance to present in front of the media a special leather suit which features the Brazilian flag, that he will be competing in during the next Moto2™ race, to be held August 6 in Brno, Czech Republic.

After nine races, Franco Morbidelli lands in Brazil on the top of the Moto2™ World Championship standings with six victories and an advantage of 34 points over Thomas Luthi.

In addition to Franco, the press conference also included the participation of Ignacio Rivera (CEO Estrella Galicia) and Brazilian MotoGP™ legend, Alex Barros. During the meeting, Mr. Rivera highlighted the importance to his company in having young talents as brand ambassadors.

Along with Franco Morbidelli, Estrella Galicia 0,0 supports other big names in MotoGP™ such as the Spaniards Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, Tito Rabat and Alex Rins, as well as Australian Jack Miller. Alex Marquez in Moto2™, and Enea Bastianini and Aron Canet in Moto3™ complete the line up in the World Championship. In Brazil, Estrella Galicia 0,0 partners with Alex Barros.

After meeting the press, Morbidelli participated in a digital Q&A with MotoGP™ fans through the Estrella Galicia 0,0 social media channels.

Morbidelli: “Everybody knows my strong ties with this country as I feel a bit Brazilian. It is very special for me being back in Brazil, my mother's home country and feel the support of the Brazilian fans. This is my special tribute to my Brazilian roots, the leather suit looks amazing! I hope it brings me luck and helps me to win in Brno. I hope to be back soon, who knows if it can be for a MotoGP race. My goal is to keep this pace and win this Championship, that would be the best way to join the MotoGP category, where I will make my debut in 2018 as part of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS”.
