Pedrosa: “From now on, every race is super important”

Front row start for the Repsol Honda rider as he keeps his eyes on the prize

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) has been quick all weekend, and the Spaniard was on provisional pole for much of qualifying at the Czech GP until getting pipped by teammate Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP). The gap isn’t big, however, and Pedrosa is happy with P3 and a good day’s work despite a small crash earlier in practice.

26 points down on leader Marquez and with some threatening pace, the ‘Baby Samurai’ is geared up for the first of the “super important” remaining nine races of the season.

Dani Pedrosa, P3: “I’m happy overall, especially about today’s qualifying. Normally it’s tighter but today we were able to do four laps…today the track was a bit strange, maybe it was too hot, and there were a lot of crashes - but we were able to do a good job and test tyres. My teammate and the Yamahas had good pace in practice and for tomorrow we have to wait to see the weather, which will be important. The temperature seems it will be lower so we have to wait on the tyre choice, but we need to stay focused for any different conditions. From now on every race is super important. We can see in the first practice the laptimes of a lot of riders were competitive, so we have to take the chances when they come.”
