Sunday Guide:

- Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA BOE Racing Team) has qualified on pole position for the second successive time after Brno a few days ago. This is the first back-to-back poles for a rider from Argentina in the lightweight-class and the first in any class since Sebastián Porto in Malaysia/Australia 2004 in the 250cc class.

 - Rodrigo will be aiming to become the first Argentinean rider to stand on the podium in the lightweight class since Willy Perez finished 3rd at Spa Francorchamps 1986. Argentina have never had a race win in the lightweight-class of Grand Prix racing.

- This is the second pole position so far for a KTM rider this year and the second successive year at the Red Bull Ring after Joan Mir was on pole position last year.

 - KTM will be aiming to win their second race of the season after Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46) in Mugello.

 - Juanfran Guevara (RBA BOE Racing) qualified in second, his sixth front row start in Moto3™ and equaling his best qualifying result of his career so far. He will be aiming to stand on the podium for the second time ever after he was third in Mugello this year.

 - This is the first 1-2 qualifying result for KTM since Brad Binder and Nicolò Bulega at Phillip Island last year. Binder is most recent rider to win from pole in Moto3™.

 - Arón Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) qualified on third for the first time the season, his eighth front row start in Moto3™. He was 21st last year in Spielberg, the worst finishing position of his career.

 - Enea Bastianini (Estrella Galicia 0,0) will head the second row, his best qualifying result since he was third fastest qualifier in Japan last year.

 - British Talent Team rider John McPhee qualified in fifth, his best qualifying result since he lined up on pole at Mugello earlier this season. He crossed the line in 24th last year in Austria from 28th on the grid.

 - Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) qualified in second before being demoted to tenth after exceeding the track limits, his worst qualifying result since Argentina this year when he managed to win the race from 16th place on the grid. Except Italy this year, he has always managed to stand on the podium after qualifying off the front row. He won his first Grand Prix race last year in Austria from pole position. He will be aiming to be the first rider since Valentino Rossi in 1997 to win seven or more races from the opening eleven races of a season.
