Across the globe: a look at MotoGP™’s nationalities

Ahead of an exciting year in Grand Prix racing, we look at the variety of nationalities on the starting grids for the 2018 season

With the news that Hafizh Syahrin has signed with Monster Yamaha Tech 3 for 2018 in MotoGP™, it now sees Malaysian riders represented in all three classes for the first time in Grand Prix racing history, as former Moto3™ podium finisher Zulfahmi Khairuddin takes his place at the SIC Racing Team in Moto2™, along with Adam Norrodin representing honours in Moto3™.

Since the last entry list was announced, we also have one more Japanese rider in the lightweight class as 2017 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Champion, Kazuki Masaki, takes the place of the retiring Juanfran Guevara at the RBA BOE Skull Rider team. With such a strong Asian presence on the grids this year, let’s look at the different riders and nationalities represented across all three classes.
