Information from the FIM MotoGP™ stewards

Communication sent to all FIM World Championship Grand Prix Teams and Riders regarding the severity of penalties in the Championship

The Grand Prix Permanent Bureau is formed by the President of the FIM and the C.E.O. of Dorna Sports.

The MotoGP™ Race Direction is composed of a representative of the FIM, a representative of IRTA and a representative of Dorna. The duty of Race Direction is to ensure the safe, efficient and timely running of the event according to the regulations. The Race Direction is not involved when it comes to imposing penalties on riders for infringements of the regulations.

The disciplinary body in charge of imposing penalties is the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards Panel composed of the Race Director (representing IRTA) and two FIM Stewards appointed by the FIM and approved by the Permanent Bureau.

All teams and riders must be advised that the Permanent Bureau, which decides on the philosophy of how strict the Championship should be, has communicated to the FIM MotoGP Stewards that starting from this weekend’s Grand Prix they should adopt a more severe approach when assessing possible infringements of the regulations and imposing penalties.

Likewise the teams and riders are reminded that if they wish to make a protest or appeal, they should communicate it as soon as possible to the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards either through IRTA or by going to the Race Control room and waiting for an FIM Steward to attend. MotoGP™ teams may also do so by sending a message through the Race Control emailing system.

This above information was already communicated yesterday to the Safety Commission by the Permanent Bureau.
