Marc VDS responds to rumours: 'Committed until 2021'

Marc VDS, which runs a title-winning Moto2 team and race-winning MotoGP team, has issued a brief statement declaring it is 'committed to racing in the World Championship until 2021'.

The statement will be aimed at calming nerves and cooling speculation over the team's future, following paddock rumours of a major fallout between team owner Marc van der Straten and team manager Michael Bartolemy.

Marc VDS, which runs a title-winning Moto2 team and race-winning MotoGP team, has issued a brief statement declaring it is 'committed to racing in the World Championship until 2021'.

The statement will be aimed at calming nerves and cooling speculation over the team's future, following paddock rumours of a major fallout between team owner Marc van der Straten and team manager Michael Bartolemy.

van der Straten stated:

"To the people of the MotoGP paddock and the race fans. I have heard many rumours in the paddock this weekend about our team and I want make the situation clear for everyone. We will continue to race competitively, as we do now, until 2021. That is my intention and that is exactly what we will do."

Marc VDS was expected to ink a deal to become Suzuki's first satellite MotoGP team, and had also received rival offers from Yamaha and Honda, prior to the rumours.

2021 is when the current contract between Dorna and the Independent MotoGP teams is up for renewal.
