Dovi, Iannone and Lorenzo within a tenth in FP4

Tight at the top in the final practice session before qualifying

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) topped FP4 at the Pramac Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland but it was mighty tight at the top and throughout the timesheets. The Italian was just 0.022 ahead of compatriot Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar), and the second Ducati machine of Jorge Lorenzo was just a further 0.064 in arrears. In addition, there was some serious race pace on show for 'DesmoDovi' at the top.

Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) was fourth despite a late mechanical that caused a run off for him, and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) - who suffered a crash at Turn 1 - was only P10 in the session despite having won the last eight races he's contested at the Sachsenring, and all from pole.

Who will take that pole? That's up next, and Dovizioso will be joined by Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) in Q1 to try and move through to fight for it.
