Pol Espargaro fit to race at Misano

Spaniard suffered a heavy crash in Brno which left him with a fractured collarbone and an inflamed spinal cord

Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) will be back on board his RC-16 at the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini after a heavy crash in Warm Up at the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky left him with a fractured collarbone and an inflamed spinal cord.

The Spaniard was left without feeling in his arms and legs immediately after the incident and despite the collarbone injury being better than first feared, meaning Espargaro didn’t require surgery, he remained in hospital for observation until the end of the week after the crash which ruled him out of KTM’s home race at the eyetime Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

Since then though, the 2013 Moto2™ World Champion has been recovering well at home and despite not being fit enough for the GoPro British Grand Prix two weeks ago, KTM have confirmed the good news that Espargaro will be back on track this weekend after passing his medical check on Thursday.

Can the younger Espargaro brother add to his seven point scoring rides he’s already achieved this season at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli?
