Jakub Kornfeil (Redox PruestelGP) was the quickest rider in the opening session of the weekend at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon, setting a 1:59.206 to go 0.228 faster than second place Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA BOE Skull Rider), with the pair both falling late at the session at Turn 12 and Turn 13 respectively – Rodrigo remounted, but Kornfeil had to be carried off on a stretcher.

Third in Moto3™ FP1 was second in the Championship Marco Bezzecchi (Redox PruestelGP), 0.629 back from his teammate, with Philipp Oettl (Sudmetal Schedl GP Racing) jumping up to fourth on his final lap – just 0.050 back from Bezzecchi to make it an all-KTM top four as Championship leader Jorge Martin (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) led the Honda charge in P5.
Alonso Lopez (Estrella Galicia 0,0) crashed early on in the session – rider ok.
The lightweight class will be back on track for FP2 at 13:10 local time (GMT +2).
