Bezzecchi tops Warm Up as 13 riders receive grid penalties

Italian fastest from Bastianini and Dalla Porta but all three will face a 12-place grid penalty

Championship protagonist Marco Bezzecchi (Redox PruestelGP) topped the Moto3™ morning Warm Up at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon, beating Leopard Racing teammates Enea Bastianini and Lorenzo Dalla Porta – but all three are included in the 13 riders that have been handed grid penalties for riding too slow in qualifying.

Bezzecchi will have to drop 12-places on the grid from his original P6 starting position and with Championship leader Jorge Martin (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) on pole, the overall standings could look a whole lot different after Aragon’s race. Rounding out the top five in Warm Up was Marcos Ramirez (Bester Capital Dubai) in P4 and Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Snipers Team) in P5 – the latter also having to drop 12-places on the grid after qualifying in fourth.

Second on the grid Jaume Masia (Bester Capital Dubai) suffered a crash at Turn 1 – rider ok, with Kaito Toba (Honda Team Asia) heading to the medical centre after a crash. Ayumu Sasaki (RBA BOE Skull Rider) also crashed at Turn 12 – rider ok.

A re-ordered grid faces the lightweight class when they go racing at 11:00 local time (GMT +2).
