Rossi misses out on Q2 as Viñales and Bagnaia progress

The Doctor will start from row five of the grid along with COTA podium finisher Jack Miller

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi has missed out on Q2 at the Gran Premio Red Bull de España after being knocked out in the closing stages by Pramac Racing's Francesco Bagnaia.

Rossi’s factory Yamaha teammate Maverick Viñales finished Q1 quickest meaning he’ll join the rookie Italian in Q2. Rossi will have to start Sunday’s race from 13th on the grid, whilst COTA podium finisher Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) will join Rossi on row five after the Australian failed to qualify inside the top five for the first time this season, down in 15th on the grid following a crash late in the session.
